The falls and the pool
Water drops in three stages through thick forest. The lowest tier ends in a pool that is open for bathing when the current is safe — which is not always, and the decision is made on the day by staff rather than by visitors.
The surrounding cliff is a known rock-climbing and rappelling site, operated separately from general entry.
The walk down
From the entrance it is roughly two kilometres down to the falls on a made path with steps. Easy enough going down; the return is a sustained climb and catches people out on a hot afternoon.
There is a tree-top viewing platform partway that gives a good angle on the upper tiers.
Before You Go
- Remember the walk back is uphill — pace the descent accordingly.
- Swimming is permitted at staff discretion and closed outright after heavy rain.
- Change of clothes if you plan to get in; facilities are basic.
- Leeches are a certainty in and after monsoon.
